What is community radio? What are its the benefits and its disadvantages?

A community radio can be defined as a radio station that is set to serve a specific community. A community radio station caters for the information for the people living in a particular geographical location, village, town or district. Community radio broadcast the content that is popular and relevant to that specific audience. There are three different types of radio; religious based, language based and educational radio station. In Namibia there up to nine community radio station namely; Channel 7 ( a multilingual religious based radio station), UNAM FM, NUST FM, Shipi FM, Radio wave, !Ha radio, Karas community radio, O’FM, Ohangwena community radio to mention few of them.

The community radio has a big social, political, economic impact to the society. It provide the community member with news bulletins, current affairs, sport news, culture and health related programmes. Community radio plays a significant role to the society by providing the member of the community by allowing them to participate in program making, management and ownership, of the station. It also enables the community member to have access to the information concerning them. It is relevant, cheap and fast in terms of communication. Community radio promotes and improves problem solving by providing information and topics of conversation through shared experiences and hence facilitates personal contact. It allows creativity, promotes democracy and informs the community about the latest information.
 

A community radio encourages community and connects people to the community. They use the language that is easily understandable to the people in that community. It serves a large scale and informs listeners about their local issue. It also motivates the community in sharing ideas, its programs are relevant to the community, allow individuals to exercise choice, make decisions and act as responsible citizens.

On the other hand community radio always experience financial problems(lack of funding) and most of them relay on advertisers and sponsors. Since most of the people who work for community are volunteers, they may not have sufficient presentation skills. There is also lack of vital skills, such as marketing, budgeting, planning and fund-raising. With community radio competition is very high. There is  also  lack of broadcasting equipment to do live outside broadcasting.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Matt was at his friend's birthday party. He saw a gorgeous chocolate-coloured woman wearing an eye-catching dress. Her beauty was like water in the desert, as fire in a frosty night. She has long black glossy hair that was shinning like a well-polished silver. Matt can't stop starring at her, he  stood up and approached her . 

"Hi . I'm Matt, pleased meeting you!, he said with a smile from ear to ear.

" They call me Angelica ", she replied patiently.

" Would you like to have some drink?",he asked.

" I'm alright thanks you", she replied as she stoop up .

Matt was not expecting such answer from her, he was broken-hearten. Angelica went outside and sat on an old brown sofa. Suddenly, something came in her mind, her eyes was flowed with tears as she was thinking of her rude acts  towards an innocent man. She went back inside and sat alone. Matt saw her and shift his chair  next to Angelica and place his hand on her  shoulder.

"I'm sorry Angelica I didn't meant  to hurt you".says Matt.

 Finally, she  agreed to have drink and they danced. They were so in love. Matt kept on holding Angelica's hand that was as soft as a cushion. They had a plenty of chin music. Angelica was feeling on top of the world, thinking that she finally found her perfect match. They had a great whale of time until late on the evening. They went to sit outside, it was dark with brightly shinning stars. Angelica decided to live. Matt escorted her outside and came back to his friend, they had an amazing jam session. They call it a night and went home. Matt couldn't sleep he has been think of  his beautiful Angel. The next day, Matt invited Angelica to a family party . He pop the question and she said YES. They were  all happy as a clam and can't wait to tie the knot.

DREAM BIG

Michael Amushelelo (27) decided to follow his passion for working hard to make his dreams come true . Today he is reaping the fruits of success.

It all started when he used to sell lollipops for his mother at high school this is when he realized that he has enterpreneurial ability. When he finished high school in 2008, he started cleaning yards and made little profit that he used to open a minishop at home .

In 2010, Amushelelo got job at Namibia Breweries as a Apprentice brewer. His  responsibilities was overwhelming thus he neglected the small business that he ran from home and decided to focus on his new job.

In March 2012 he registered his business, Amushe Incorporated. He started gathering the team of young people from different profession that helped him form subsidiary companies that offer various products and services to people and has created employment to many youth.

After he formed subsidiary companies he was not having enough money as a result the team fell apart. He was the only one left to do all the job. He was fighting tooth and nails to rebuild his company's image.

He began advertising his business on different social media platform. His business go vital especially on Facebook he got connected with many people that he share his business ideas with.

Amushelelo faced  many challenges but he tried his level best to overcome this challenges and never stop dreaming. He kept focused on his goal and his vision.He has inspired many youth to never give up until they succeed.

Hardworking always pays, in 2013 Amushelelo was nominated by Windhoek lager under the Business Ambassador category.

He was willing to start mentorship programme to mentor emerging entrepreneurs to be able to manage a successful business and also foundation that will focus on education and particular innovation.He mentor different business conferences, share business ideas on Television and Radio programme. 

Being a young dreamer, Amushelelo always think inside the box. He believed that every failure leads to success and he never give up on his dreams.

Today Amushe Incorporated has different subsidiaries such as Amushe Advertising and design, Amushe construction, Amushe Computer solutions, Amushe Investment Consultancy, Amushe Laboratory solutions and Amushe modelling Agency .

Amushelelo is now  co-founder of Amushe Inc and visionary current Executive Chairman of  Amushe and also a Windhoek lager Ambassador in Business category.

He is a well known motivational speaker, a mentor, a social activist, forex trader, philanthropist, investor, and a young entrepreneur.

Shinning moments of Helalia Johannes

                                                                                         

 Helalia Johannes branded as a Namibian medalist  after winning a Gold medal during the 2018 Commonwealth Games which was held in Australia. Good times shortly after her success,three days after her winning she was promoted to the rank of warrant officer class two in the Namibian Defence Force.

Beside her incredible achievement, Johannes has been a star on track as she holds Namibian record of the 10km,20 km ,half marathon and marathon events .  During her career as a long distance runner, Johannes's victory was the best result in marathon since she was a runner-up in Beijing Olympics in 2008. She improved her personal best  when she won  during the Dublin Marathon, in 2011.  She also participated  in All-African games and the Military World games in 2011 at which won Bronze medal.

Johannes has continued to improve her performance and working on her career, pushing harder just to be the best and break the World Marathon record in the future.

My heart bleeds when  I read  about men and women killing their loved ones.  My question remains " will we ever stop mourning for our sisters  and brothers?,  things happening  nowadays  will make someone  to loose hope in future. The number of passion killings cases is  increasing by leaps and bounds day by day.  At first the two partners  live happily together,  sharing  jokes and  doing things together believing that their love will never ends but when relationship turns sour,  one can make a decision of  ending  one's  life.

 

In relationships there are always ups and downs but the partner have to cope with this situation. Poor communication, unfaithfulness, break-ups,  insecurity,  financial  problems and  lack of  understanding  is the major factors that  contribute passion killings. The unemployment  rate is very high, some women can't cope with the poverty  anymore  these  make them get in the relationship simply  because they want someone  to protect and provide them with their everyday  necessities so they become  dependent  for men.

Men are getting loans everyday and  spend this money traveling  abroad,  buying  latest luxury cars, phones, expensive clothes  and alcohol for him and his loved one.  As times goes on,  the debt correctors and landlords are  asking  for their money. A woman will then decide to move on with  her life,  the man get stressed.He then start  thinking out of the box,  thinking of all the money he invested to keep their relationship  working .  These has broke him heart into million pieces. All days and nights  he is asking himself  "will I ever  find love again?,  he will start searching his former lover with a purpose  of killing her and then  commit suicide.

It could be better if partner seek for psychological help,  if there is no solution  they can talk to a trustworthy friend,  family member,  pastor or social workers to keep their life worth of living. I strongly believe that talking  to someone  or reporting any gender based violence case to the police or social workers  could help the partners who are undergoing any life-threatening situation. The government also need to introduce  psychology lessons in communities,  schools,and  churches these will help people to understand  life better. .

Namibia  is one of  the most beautiful  country  on the world  and is home to the most famous  Epupa falls with carved cliff and  colored rock walls framing  the falls.

Epupa falls is one of Namibia 's top tourist attraction.  The most interesting things about #EPN is that visitors  travel through this amazing area which is filled with baobab trees,  wild figs trees  and Makalani palms which is more than just a pretty  scenic attraction.  There are lodges with campsites at with they offer visitors  with total relaxed and personalized  services such as meals, luxury safari-style tents for camping plus Internet  services.

Epupa falls  was recognized  by many tourist nas a unique paradise falls and most tourists like visiting this place right after rainy season when spray is at its peak.

Cinderella movie review

CINDERLLA:MOVIE REVIEW

RATING:8.5/10

A wonderful Disney classic movie which tells a story of a young  abused orphaned girl who won the heart of a handsome prince . The story was written by Chris Weitz, the movie was produced by Simon Kinberg, Allison Shearmur,  David Barron and directed by Kenneth Branagh.

After losing her parents at a very young age Lilly James "Cinderella" , a beautiful, charming, kind with full of respect found herself in a deepdeep sea. Her wicked stepmother's Cattle Brenchett, Lady Treimaize and step sisters namely Anastasia( Holiday Grainger) and Drizella ( Sophie McShera) made her life miserable. They were crueless, abusive and unkind to her, they even forced her to sleep in attic and she was  prohibited from  eating with them.Their unpleasant attitudes ruined Cinderella's life so she made friend with animals like birds, Gus and mouse with helped her with everything she want. Cinderella believed in magic, the fairly godmother's Helena Bonham-Carter  provided her with glass shoes and a beautiful dress that she was wearing when she met and has a dance with Richard Madden , the prince.

Cinderella has a good personality, she was charming young beautiful girl showing her vulnerability character who always has courage and has a great strength in kindness. She was always confident and chasing her dreams this made her to triumph over all negative situation she faced.

The most important thing in  movie is to  keep dreaming and  follow what your dreams says. Having courage to overcoming all problems facing in life and to have a strong faith in everything , believing that one day she will leave a happier life . Forgiving and forgetting all the past is the most courageous act, Cinderella was teased  and mistreated by her stepmother  but was always humble and respectful.

 Cinderella reminds me of Emma Watson best known an Belle on beauty and the beast , the prince recognized her kind heart and decided to have a romantic dance together. She deserved the ball of the kingdom and finally fell in love with the prince. These movie deserve extra bravo.

The black panther movie review

MOVIE REVIEW: THE BLACK PANTHER

RATING:8/10

Black panther is an African film which was produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Ryna Coogler which tells a story about a fictional city of Wakanda which was situated in the east of Africa.

These movie was played by an amazing character  Chadwick Boseman "T'Challa"  who  claimed to be the King of Wakanda after the death of his father. T'Challa was such a powerful, trustworthy, legend, faithful, superhero and a very good leader.He was challenged by Killmonger ( Michael B Jordan) who was killing innocent people but T'Challa was fighting tooth to nail to save his nation.

These movie has spectacular characters, warrior woman, fun, intelligent woman with super power Shuri who used advanced technology to make the suit for the King that uses force that gave him energy to fight. She also created shoes that don't give sound (footsteps) that really helped the king when he was fighting. Okoye the genuine and  strong woman also helped the king to get the throne . The gorgeous Nakia was a very good advisor with good leadership characteristics.

The interesting part in Wakanda was the  of Wakanda standing on the cliff shows black empowerment and pan Africanism , the salad bowl nation of Wakanda. Some characters were also wearing the African atirre these will show respect and better understanding of African cultures. The characters were speaking in indeginous language Xhosa to balance the situation.

However, the music which was used was not African's one, they were supposed to use local music like what's done in other African movies like Jerusalem, Tsotsi, Katutura and others. When T'Challa and Killmonger were fighting on the sky, they were at a very dark areas I couldn't tell what was going on between the two of them. They were some unclear pictures which was shown in this movie.

This film tells more African history ,  their way of life and how they interact with different cultures. This was an incredible movie I never seen.

Blinded by love

Once upon a time in Essen, Germany there was a blind girl . She hated everyone , except her loving boyfriend. She had been telling her boyfriend that if she see the world, she will marry him.

One day, her aunty came to their house and donated a pair of artificial eyes and she begun seeing everything including  her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her "now as you can see the world, will you lmarry me?".l

The girl was outraged when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too and she refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away feeling blue and his heart was swelled with a sea of tears. He was in a painful situation, she felt hopeless and unloved. He was broken hearted. Later, he confessed to her that he was not blind but he  was just masquerading because he don't want to lose her in his life.

He knelt on his knee and says:
" my love for you is as deep as the ocean, I love you with  all my heart and I want to be with you for the rest of my life, you are an apple of my eyes".
With a great sadness , tears flowed simultaneously from his eyes he asked her; "will you marry me?".

She wiped away his tears and replied:
" yes, I do want to marry you. You are the light of my life and I am willing to sacrify my love to you. I promise that I will always love you till death do us apart".
